Wizbert: your AI party member and gaming companion

An AI party member in spirit, never in control: Wizbert is one character's company and optional hints beside your games, with every input left to you.

In role-playing games, a party is the group around your character: companions who banter, bicker and cover each other's flanks. Wizbert takes the word in that spirit — a wise, slightly grumbly wizard who sits beside your group while you play, adding company, commentary and the occasional hint. He is a planned gaming companion for your party, not an autonomous member of it. Nobody else takes the controls; the party is still yours.

The honest version of an AI party member

"AI party member" can sound like a bot that joins your characters and fights for them. Here is the honest version: Wizbert is an AI party member in the sense of company only — one wizard with dry humour and optional hints, beside your session rather than inside it. He never controls a character, never presses a key and never makes a game input. In the party, he is the one by the campfire sharing stories, not the one swinging the sword. Every decision and every input stays with the humans at the table.

One character, not a roster

Wizbert is one character with one personality: white beard, teal hat, moods that shift with the game's mood. He is not a roster of interchangeable companions you swap in and out, and not a library of generic voices. Like any good party member, he is someone you get to know over time — but getting to know him is conversation and company, never co-piloting.

No AI second player with a controller

"AI second player" can suggest an AI grabbing the other controller in local co-op. That is not Wizbert: he has no controller, takes no seat on the couch, and the second player slot stays human. His place is at your side, not at the controls. Where a game offers a couch or an online seat, that seat belongs to a person.

An AI co-op partner in spirit, not in the lobby

Wizbert is an AI co-op partner in the spirit of a good campaign — someone to share the highs and lows with, a familiar voice through a long session. He is not a co-op partner in the lobby sense: he does not join online multiplayer lobbies, does not queue with your group, and has no profile in anyone's matchmaking. Company around the game, not a participant in it.

What a party with Wizbert feels like

Keep the image humble: you play, and a small teal-hatted wizard over your screen provides commentary, remember-if-you-ask hints and the occasional dry remark. He celebrates a hard-earned win with you, keeps quiet through a tense bit, and never touches your save file or your inputs. That is the whole job — company and optional help, with every input left to you.

Where the idea stands today

This is a concept page, so let's be honest about the stage: there is no public build, no release date and no confirmed game yet. Every proposed integration still needs its own review against that game's rules, and we will announce tested support on the games page when it exists. The rest of this site describes the experience we are designing, not software you can install today.
